Import/Export validation rules

Export Validation Rules

Validation rules can be exported to file so they can be reused for validation in some other tasks.  They are exported in files with .csf extension.

To export every validation rules for a task:

1. Select the task containing validation rules to export
2. Select Validation tab
3. Select Segment/Field Validation tab
4. Right-click in the table content
5. Select Export Segment/Field Validation Rules
   The file browser window opens
6. Give the file to be created a location and a name
7. Click OK

Import Validation Rules

The same way, validation rules can be imported from file so validation rules can be reused.  By default, validation rule files have .csf extension.

To import validation rules from a file and add them to the already existing rules:

1. Select the task to add validation rules to
2. Select Validation tab
3. Select Segment/Field Validation tab
4. Right-click in the table content
5. Select Import Segment/Field Validation Rules
   The file browser window opens
6. Select the file to import
7. Click OK
